Studying Thermochemical Conversion of Sm2O3 to SmCl3 using AlCl3 in LiCl-KCl Eutectic Melt

In this report the thermochemical conversion of Sm2O3 to SmCl3 using AlCl3 in LiCl-KCl melt at 773 K is discussed. The final product was a mixture SmCl3, Al2O3, unreacted and chloride melt. electrochemical attributes analyzed with cyclic voltammetry (CV) square wave (SWV). crystallographic phases were studied X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique. major chemical optimized by varying effective parameters, such as concentrations AlCl3, duration reaction amount salt. extent qualitative assessment efficiency present protocol evaluated fluorescence spectroscopy, UV-Vis spectrophotometry inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) studies mixture.
